This policy describes how QuickPin handles information in the mobile app and on quickpinapp.com. It matches current beta behavior. If we change what we collect, we will update this page.

Short version
- Pins you capture (photo, note, location) stay on your phone unless you turn on Cloud sync.
- If you create a Cloud account, we store those pins in Google Firebase so you can review them in the app and on the web dashboard.
- The download page stores contact details you type in so we can track beta installs and email updates you opt into. We do not sell that information.
- We collect lightweight usage counts (how many pins you saved, which plan you were on). Those counts do not include your notes, photos, GPS, or email.
- There are no ads and no advertising trackers.

Information we collect
1. On your device (always)
When you create a pin, QuickPin stores on the phone:
- Photos you take or pick
- Spoken or typed notes
- GPS coordinates (when location succeeds) and a display address
- Category, capture time, and folder state (Saved / Archive / Deleted)
This lives in the app’s local database and photo files. It does not leave the device unless you use Cloud sync, Share, Export, or Feedback.
Permissions we ask for

You can deny these in phone Settings. Without camera you cannot save a pin. Without location you can still Save without GPS and add a location later.
2. Download page (website)
If you use quickpinapp.com/download, we store:
- Required: name, email, platform (Android / iPhone / both)
- Optional: location, organization, phone
- Whether you opted in to beta update emails
- That you agreed to the download notice
- Time of the request
We use this to know who downloaded the beta and to email people who asked for updates. We do not sell it or use it for unrelated marketing.
3. Cloud account (optional, Pro)
If you sign in with email and password or Google, we store:
- Account email and a user id
- Optional profile fields you enter (display name, company)
- Pins and photos you sync, including notes and coordinates
Cloud photos and pin records live in Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Storage under your personal workspace. Other testers cannot read your pins. QuickPin admins can access Cloud data as needed to operate the beta (for example, to investigate a support request).
4. Usage metrics
The app keeps monthly counters on the device (pins created, which edition you were using, app version, platform) and periodically sends them to Firebase. If you are not signed into Cloud, the app may use anonymous Firebase Auth only so those counts can be written. That anonymous session is not a Cloud pin account.
These metrics do not include pin notes, photos, GPS, or your email.
5. Feedback
If you tap Feedback in the app, your mail app opens with a draft to contact@quickpinapp.com. The draft includes the screen you were on, app version, and platform. Whatever you write and send is email you chose to send us.
6. Web dashboard
The dashboard uses the same Cloud account. We show pins already synced to your workspace. We do not create pins on the web.
How we use information
- Provide the app: save, show, share, and (if you enable it) sync pins
- Reverse-geocode a GPS fix into an address (Google Maps)
- Operate the beta: download tracking, optional update emails, usage counts
- Respond to feedback and support
- Improve QuickPin, including using feedback you send us
We do not sell personal information. We do not show ads. We do not use your pins to train public AI models.
Sharing
We share information only as needed to run the product:

Device speech recognition is provided by Apple (iPhone) or Google (typical Android). We store the resulting text as your note; we do not run our own speech servers.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the service or someone’s safety.
Where data is stored
- On device: local database and photo files (Android / iPhone)
- In the cloud (when you use Cloud or the website): Google Firebase in the United States
Backups you Export from Settings are ZIP files you save or send yourself. We do not receive those unless you email them to us.
How long we keep it
- On-device pins: until you delete them, empty Deleted, or uninstall the app
- Cloud pins: until you delete them in the app (which also removes the cloud copies we can reach) or you ask us to delete your account
- Download registrations: while the beta is running, or until you ask us to remove your row
- Usage metrics: monthly snapshots while the beta is running
- Feedback email: in our inbox until we no longer need it for the request
Your choices
- Location / mic / camera: phone Settings → QuickPin
- Cloud: leave Cloud sync Off; pins stay on the device
- Download emails: only if you check “Email me when a new beta build is ready”
- Delete a pin: Deleted folder, then delete forever or Clean out Deleted
- Delete your Cloud account and download record: email contact@quickpinapp.com from the address you used. Say you want your account and/or download registration deleted. We do not yet have an in-app “delete account” button.
Uninstalling the app removes local data on that phone. It does not automatically delete a Cloud account or website download registration.
Children
QuickPin is not intended for children. There is no age gate in the app — we just built it for people pinning job sites, errands, and “where did I park,” not for kids. Why does a child even need an app like this?
Cookies and similar tech
The marketing and download pages do not use advertising cookies. The dashboard uses Firebase Auth in the browser (typical browser storage for your signed-in session).
Security
Cloud data is protected by Firebase Authentication and security rules so only your account (and operators running the project) can access your workspace. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Changes
We will post updates on this page and change the “Last updated” date. Material changes for Cloud or the download page will also be called out on those screens when we can.
